DIY 8 Natural & Easy Homemade Lip Scrubs

Using a home made lip scrub especially in winter is very important. Lips have a very thin skin and it should not get dry or chapped. Many people have dry and cracked lips for no obvious reason. By using these instructions, you can made an exfoliating lip scrub that make your lips gentle, soft and supple.

DIY 8 Natural & Easy Homemade Lip Scrubs

1- Olive Oil & Sugar Scrub:

Ingredients:

  • Olive Oil – few drops
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp

Method:

Mix a little bit of olive oil with some sugar in a bowl. Make a fine consistent substance and gently apply the mixture on your lips in a circular motion. The longer you rub the mixture, the more exfoliated your lips will be. Rinse the mixture with lukewarm water. Swallowing a bit of mixture is not dangerous because all ingredients are non toxic.

2- Petroleum Jelly Scrub:

Ingredients:

  • Petroleum Jelly – a small amount

Method:

Take an old tooth brush which has soft bristles and apply a bit of petroleum jelly on it. Rub the tooth brush with petroleum jelly on your lips in a circular motion. Leave the petroleum jelly to re-hydrate your lips.

3- Baking Soda Scrub:

Ingredients:

  • Baking Soda – 1 tbsp
  • Water – 2 tbsp

Method:

Take some baking soda and mix it with water to form a gritty paste. Use an old tooth brush or cotton cloth to use on your lips in circular motion. Rinse with fresh water. Baking soda and water do not help to get moisturize your lips. When done, be sure to apply a lip balm.

4- Honey & Sugar Lip Scrub:

Ingredients:

  • Honey – 1 tbsp
  • Sugar – 1/2 tbsp

Method:

Make a honey sugar scrub by taking honey and less sugar and mix them together. Make a paste and apply it on your lips and let it to be there for few minutes.

5- Honey, Oil, Sugar & Lemon Juice Scrub:

Ingredients:

  • Warm Honey – 1 tbsp
  • Olive / Almond / Sunflower Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Granulated Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Lemon Juice – 1 or 2 drops

Method:

Honey scrub can be made by adding 1 table spoon of honey in a clean sterile cup. Warm the honey in a microwave oven for a few seconds. It possesses the healing and hydrating properties. Then, add 1 table spoon of oil which provides an efficient barrier. The oil could be edible such as olive oil, almond oil or sunflower oil. Add 2 table spoon of granulated sugar which acts as an abrasive exfoliant to remove dead skin. You can also stir a drop of lemon juice, if you like. Gently apply it on your lips to remove the dead skin and make them beautiful and soft.

6- Brown & White Sugar Scrub:

Ingredients:

  • Brown Sugar – 1/2 tbsp
  • White Sugar – 1/2 tbsp
  • Honey / Olive Oil – few drops

Method:

Home made lip scrub can be made by adding brown sugar in white sugar. Mix both these sugars with few drops of olive oil or honey. Apply this on your lips once in a week to remove damaged and dry skin mass. It proves to be a great remedy when talking about chapped and dry lips.

7- Chocolate Lip Scrub:

Ingredients:

  • Cocoa Butter – 1 ounce
  • Seed Oil – 1 ounce
  • Brown & White Sugar – 1/2 cup

Method:

Home made chocolate lip scrub can be made by 1 oz of cocoa butter, 1 oz of seed oil, half cup of brown and white sugar. Mix all these ingredients in a bowl until a homogenized solution is formed. Put it in a container and use it regularly on the lips.

8- Coffee Lip Scrub:

Ingredients:

  • Ground Coffee – 1/2 cup
  • Olive Oil – few drops
  • White Sugar – 1/2 cup

Method:

Home made coffee lip scrub can be made by mixing half cup of ground coffee, few drops of olive oil and half cup of white sugar. Mix them thoroughly. A nice consistent mixture will be formed. Put it in an air tight container for further use. Use it on your lips for exfoliation and removal of dead skin.
